What are the Engine Options and Power Ratings for the 2020 VW Passat Lineup at Herman Cook Volkswagen near Carlsbad and Escondido CA?
The 2020 Volkswagen Passat lineup here at Herman Cook VW is a different beast than most other new sedan lineups out on the road today. Most of those lineups either offer multiple engine options – all with different power ratings – or they offer a single engine option across the entire lineup – with each trim level featuring the same power ratings. But, again, the 2020 Passat lineup is a different beast. That’s because every trim level found within the 2020 VW Passat lineup features a turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI® direct-injection engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission complete with Tiptronic® technology. The caveat is that all but the base 2020 Passat trim level also feature a new torque converter that helps the lineup achieve a horsepower rating of 174 and a torque rating of 207 pound-feet. The base 2020 Passat trim level, which doesn’t feature the converter, achieves a horsepower rating of 174 and a torque rating of 184 pound-feet.
