The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, and ID.4 were all deemed worthy of this prestigious award from Cars.com, and this isn’t the first time Volkswagen has received these kinds of accolades. How Does Cars.com Test for Car Seats?

The Best Cars for Car Seats Report is the result of 12 months of car seat checks that are conducted by Cars.com’s team of certified child passenger safety technicians. They install three types of car seats, infant, convertible, and high-back booster seats. These specialists then evaluate the vehicle’s Latch system and determine how the vehicle accommodates all of the different seats. 

Cars.com has tested more than 800 cars over 14 years, and in 2024, 52 vehicles were assessed. To achieve the highest “A” rating, a vehicle must have enough room for the child and the car seat without impacting the driver’s or front passenger’s legroom. The Latch system must also be easily accessible at all times.

As you can see, a lot goes into testing the performance of a vehicle’s car seat, and not only did The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, and ID.4 win the 2024 Best Cars for Car Seats, but they did so with flying colors.
